Axisymmetric turbulence

Modelling of axisymmetric turbulence

The solution space for anisotropic turbulence is bounded on two sides by what is known as axisymmetric turbulence. On these sides the equations are simplified leading to easier modelling due to one term disappearing and constraints on the equations for the tensors. The tuned Reynolds stress models available in commercial software breach these constraints thus questioning their value.
